LIFE AT THE SHOPPE: friday nite crop!

LIFE AT THE SHOPPE: friday nite crop!

friday nite crop!

ok. so i've learned that crop nite really takes its tole on me the next day. but i love being surrounded by wonderful people and all that we can share with each other! there's so much laughter and most everyone is working on something different. all have their own style of doing their pages. last nite was great. not so much a full house but a busy one. one of our girls completed 20 pages! as to my 1 page. lol! a few of our friends weren't able to be there but we know they will show up soon. we also have new comers and that's always fun. as much fun it is to scrapbook making new friends just adds so much more. its wonderful when some will come from almost 100 miles to join us! i truly believe the draw to the shoppe is the owner, cheryl. she has the patience of job. she never fails to help when someone is new to the craft. she's the busiest woman i know. and i can promise you she has more craft ideas (especially scrapbooking) with christmas just ahead of us than any magazine you can find! when there is a moment that someone is stuck she can follow your idea and get you going again.

when you have a moment please check out her blog http://www.thescrapbookshoppe.blogspot.net/ and you will see for yourself what i'm talking about.

mike's birthday page!

today i created mike's birthday page. yet again it was difficult so i've taken to looking thru magazines and such for my ideas. it's ironic that i chose a page layout that was for "a mother like no other." i'm always telling him he is not his mother because he acts just like her. but i got it done and i'm proud of it. bless his heart though. i had to get him to download some pictures so i could put one on the page! now i need to make something for max to give him. although i did raid the candy bowl at the shoppe (the one i always fill) and got all of the whoppers out, put them in a clear candy bag with a bow and a tag. yes, i'm pretty proud of myself. can't help it! i'm so very glad i have the shoppe to go to. i learn something everyday. i love crafting, creating. it's such good therapy!!!

3 pages in just a few hours!

for me this is a first. its not that i don't have imagination. its the fact that it is difficult to scrap a page with no pictures. i've really had to work hard to manage what i accomplished today. of course i had to buy new paper that just arrived. but i used paper i had purchased previously. i got a thumbs up from cheryl. it made my day! and for the life of me i couldn't imagine why i had "dog" paper. then i realized my dogs are family too so they got their page today. i suppose the cat will have to be sitting with the dogs for her to make it into the album! i'm hoping i can make enough pages for those i want to have a memory book. of course these will be starter pages right? no pictures yet! i may sneak in a few pumpkin pages with max on them for the grandparents. i'm still searching for the right albums for the right people. hmmmm...

hey! i'm getting into this blogging thing...!

the calendar

i spent saturday (all day mind you) at the shoppe. we had a class to make a beautiful calendar for 2009. of course! it wouldn't make sense if it were for 2008! anyhoo, that was one heck of a class. cheryl is a great teacher. hopefully, one day i will catch up. but i have to keep in mind she has at least 10 years on me with her scrapbooking. i was there before 10am and didn't leave (finish) until a bit after 5pm. i came home and collapsed. literally. but i'm proud to say i did complete my beautiful calendar! i have so much going on for the next month. projects for the shoppe and maybe something i can work in for gifts. i love this and i believe i'm addicted. if only i could scrapbook pages for gifts with no pictures to go by! christmas would be complete as far as gift giving. with that said, i think i'll go get ready and run off to the shoppe to see my favorite "teacher" and complete at least one page...

MAYBE SOMETHING EASY?

blogging is all new to me. you'll notice i usually type in lower case. just something i do. several of my friends have started blogging and they love it so i thought i'd give it a try. of course theirs are tied to their beliefs, businesses, things of that nature. i have beliefs and my business seems to be everybody elses! i will say i'm fortunate to have really special friends. each have their on special gifts that remind me to be gracious and thankfull for each passing day.
